First and foremost, we are unicorns. We create magic. We are designers, coders, strategists, and all around badasses bringing the voice of business back to the people.
We work with small businesses + entrepreneurs who have a desire to create change in our current world. Through branding, content, and digital experiences we are co-creating for future generations.
HOW UNICORNTOPIA STARTED
The Original Unicorn
My husband Brian (who’s receiving the piggy back) and I at a family photoshoot before the big “Ah-Ha” moment of UnicornLife. He’s also my #1 supporter and believer of all things Magic.
I believe in magic and a thing called love. It helps when the two go hand-in-hand in the creation of our unicorn tale.
UnicornLife started as a space for people to connect with each other and grow from both design and physical movement. As a graphic designer and fitness instructor, my dream is for both worlds to collide and create a magical place, where our wildest dreams become reality.
Around three years ago, UnicornLife started to form. While designing full-time, freelance became a side hustle, as well as becoming more involved in physical fitness. A few life events later lead me to leaving my full-time design job to become an instructor for the indoor cycling company, SoulCycle. This major move in my career required me to rely financially on my freelance jobs to sustain my life while I worked to lift my cycling career off the ground.
A year into teaching and being a full-time freelancer, COVID-19 swept in and both my teaching and design world hit a stand still. While on unemployment, I decided to take a leap of faith and venture back into my freelance work, but this time in a much bigger way.
I believe in listening to the universe and having an open mind to its musings. The name UnicornLife had been developed almost 2 years prior as an idea for a LGBT t-shirt design company. Through SoulCycle, the Unicorn came back to me as a symbol of empowerment and courage. The two ideals that I needed to start my own design agency as, UnicornLife.
My “AH-HA” moment was having a desire to design again, but not in the traditional agency, 9-to-5. I want freedom to build a work/life balance that makes me happy and that also allows me to introduce my clients to the same ideals. UnicornLife is a safe space for creativity to flourish, and for people to find what truly ignites their dreams.
We also believe in creating a “client + agency” dynamic, where we collaborate together to create beautiful and functional websites, branding, social media and print designs that elevate your business as well as ours. You are as much a part of the process in creating, as we are. Your thoughts, ideas and needs matter the most, and we acknowledge and respect this.
